Room Rates

Our care centre is licensed by the Ministry of Health and must adhere to the guidelines outlined in the Residential Care Regulations and Hospital Act.  As such, a resident's per diem charge will be determined by the Case Manager in the community or Discharge Planner at the hospital.  The Ministry sets the rates that all care centres charge their residents.  The daily rate will be determined based on an assessment of their income.  The rates do increase on an annual basis and notification is sent by the Health Authority in writing to billing contact prior to the increase.

There are some special rooms at Inglewood:

Veterans Priority Access rooms:  Ten resident rooms at Inglewood are reserved for veterans.  There is a separate wait list for priority access beds with the Veterans Affairs Canada.  If a veteran qualifies for a priority access veteran bed they are able to jump the queue if a veteran bed becomes available.   Please speak to the Social Worker for more information.

Respite Room: Inglewood has one Respite room and the cost is $28.85 per day (2010 rate).  The cost for Respite is the same regardless of income.  The Respite room is booked through Vancouver Coastal Health and may be booked for a minimum stay of two weeks and a maximum of one month.  Please see our Resident and Family Handbook for more details.

Private Pay Option:  Three rooms in the Lodge and one in the Manor are designated as Private Pay and are not subsidized by Vancouver Coastal Health.  The same amount of care is provided, however it is not subsidized.  Admission criteria are determined by Inglewood.  Costs start at approximately $6,200 per month (2010 rate).  Some individuals opt to go the route of Private Pay to guarantee placement at their preferred facility in a private room.  Others may not meet the criteria for subsidized care, either because their care needs are too low, or because they are from out of province or country.  Please speak to the Social Worker for current rate information.
