To everyone at Inglewood Care Centre
On behalf of my family I would like to thank all the staff for taking such wonderful care of my dear father, Ray Clayton. During our journey over the past three years my father and I met so many employees who gave so much more than their job required.
Some of my favorite memories include Larry laughing while he tried to yank the sliding door in his room back on the track; Dolly telling Dad what a fine man he was; Lorraine bringing Dad baseball caps (he always lost them); Rosemary delicately replacing a bandage on his hand; Monica "dancing" with Dad; Maria taking him outside to rake the leaves after finding his broom; and Laura always bringing a big smile to his face as she called him "Uncle Ray".
I could go on and on as my heart and memories are filled with special moments we all shared while travelling this often challenged road.
Thank you again to EVERYONE for caring so much. I hope you will think of Dad fondly as you walk through the gate of the Manor and hear those leaves crunching under your feet!
Best Regards.

P.S. We will be celebrating his life Sat. March 15th at 2:00 PM at the Boal Chapel

Mr. Ian Woodcock; Administrator, Inglewood Care Centre
Dear Mr. Woodcock;
A brief note to let you and your staff at Inglewood know that their efforts to make the Christmas Season enjoyable were very much appreciated.
My husband is in the Lower Terrace and this is his first Christmas there. So I was grateful that it was a happy experience.
Even the small details like the Christmas "Crackers" at Dinner being negotiable for ailing hands made everyone happy. Open House was quite outstanding too. Thanks to all.
Yours sincerely,
Marjorie H. Clark

I would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation for the wonderful care my Mother, Frankie Hoseason, has received since she moved into Inglewood.
Mom and I have so enjoyed living together for the past six years, but the last year or two she had become very worried of being a burden, especially since I was her only child.
So her Grandchildren and I are just delighted to see her so happy and settled and to see her dignity and good sense of humor return. For Mom to make this difficult adjustment and come back to her happy self, we feel is due to the friendly caring staff, the new friendships, the warm cheerful and safe environment, and the wonderful gardens that she so loves. Watching this has been a gift to her family.
There is an atmosphere of dedication to raise the quality of life for the Elderly at Inglewood. Many of the staff members we rarely see, but nevertheless I wish to pass on our appreciation to all, and to say,
Thank you

Dear Ian;
I would like to take this opportunity to remedy my long overdue praise and commendation to the Care, Nursing and Recreation/Volunteer Staff at Inglewood! I cannot commend enough to you and the owners of Inglewood, the overall QUALITY of care and attention to the needs of the Residents {including my Parents}, which have not gone unnoticed and appreciated by me and my family. I applaud you all and praise you ALL in conversations to friends, family and simply anyone who will give me a willing ear!
Specifically, I would like to comment on the care provided to my parents: Olga and Reg. Peynado and the very special persons who were assigned as their ‘primary’ caregivers..., whose care and attention have been completely ABOVE the ‘satisfactory’ call to ‘duty’. In the Lodge, Nurses: Elsie, Gloria, Jackie and Edmund, have my deepest respect and gratitude. I thank you ALL very much!
Care Staff: Ella and Natalie... There are really few words that can adequately describe the level of care and attention that these two ladies have offered to my parents! My best commendation is to say that they have treated my parents as “family” and as the only family member here in Canada, I feel truly blessed! Thank you Ella! Thank you Natalie!
When I realized that my parents had to be moved over to the ECU I was terrified! The had to deal with so many changes and setbacks {two falls with broken limbs!}, and I feared the worst. Again thanks to Lisa with her sensitivity and care, and the ‘magic’ of ALL the Care Staff at Inglewood, we survived that fearful two-week changeover. This brings me to my most immediate comments regarding their new home at the Lower Terrace.
In the five month since my parents moved, they have not only ‘settled in’, but are actually ‘thriving’ with the care and attention of the additional Care Staff and most particularly from the attention, kindness and sunny personality of Maria!!! Where did you find her? As I watched Maria over these past months and worked alongside her as a volunteer, I could not help but notice her innate ability to ‘read’ the Residents needs and interests. She is indeed a ‘gift’ to us all!! Thank you Maria!
Finally, I would like to thank the Kitchen and Laundry Staff… They too enter caringly into this unique mosaic that defines the ‘special-ness’ of Inglewood… and have individually added to the richness of my parents life.
I thank you ALL so much!
Sincerely;
Alice Hutchison

Dear Mr. Woodcock:
I am the daughter of Charles Judd who is a patient in the Manor. I am writing this letter on behalf of myself, my Mom and my Dad. My Dad, Charles Judd, has been a patient in the Manor since September. Daddy is elderly, over 100, and is being cared for by your staff in the Manor. Daily, he tells us how kind and good everyone is to him. He sometimes raves about the wonderful bath he has had. He says the girls come into his room, sometimes for no reason, and sit on his bed and talk to him. Please let your staff know how much this means to all of the family.
Last week, on February 24th my Dad had an appointment for minor surgery at the Lion's Gate hospital. Sometime prior to this I informed the staff of the upcoming event. Debbie B. was the nurse on duty that I spoke with. Apparently all on this information was recorded because on the day of the surgery my Mom and I arrived at Inglewood and Daddy was all ready  to go to his appointment. He was so nicely dressed and cared for. Debbie was very helpful and supportive and extra nurturing to us all at such a time. Upon our arrival back at Inglewood we were greeted with care and concern. We were trying to settle Daddy down when a plate of cookies and tea arrived in Daddy's room shortly thereafter. That seemed like a real life safer, especially for my Mom, who found the whole experience exhausting. She is 92 herself and having trouble coping with all of this. I know Debbie B. was the nurse on duty at the time and she and the rest of the staff are to be commended for their support and attention given to the family not just this particular day but everyday.  It is people like Debbie and so many of the rest of your staff that make it a little easier to cope with such circumstances. Debbie and the other staff not only care for my Dad but constantly try to reassure my Mom that things will be O.K. Please share this with your staff.
Yours Sincerely,
Leisha Pearce

Dear Ian;
What a lovely happy celebration you gave Trudy. She would have enjoyed it very much and our conversation as we walked along the seawall would have certainly included all the things that were said.
She will indeed be missed by us all.
I just want to say thank you to you, to Mr. Bhaloo and the Staff, and especially to Wilma Atchison who went out of her way to help Trudy's Family accomplish the  high task of "packing up". She is without a doubt a great credit to Inglewood.
Inglewood is indeed a place of excellence and I am very proud to be associated.
Thanks again, regards
Phyllis Gaul
