OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY SERVICES

The part-time Occupational Therapist's mandate is to provide services to all Inglewood residents.

The "occupation" of our residents ranges from getting dressed, brushing teeth, washing, eating, sitting up to enjoy entertainment, communicating, sleeping, participating in numerous leisure activities...in other words, any activity that occupies their time.

The primary function of the Occupational Therapist is to help the residents to achieve their maximum level of function in their "occupations", to ensure they are as safe as possible within the parameters of acceptable risk, to enhance their quality of life. The Occupational Therapist's tasks may include assessing and recommending special equipment, adapting equipment or method of doing something, like changing the environment, in order to increase functional ability, comfort, accessibility to their environment, or to decrease fatigue, pain, deformity.
