Acknowledging evidence-based reports that the incidence of influenza among
residents of long term care facilities is strongly related to the level of
immunization of the staff of those same long term care facilities. Inglewood
launched a campaign to increase the number of staff participating in our
influenza vaccination program.

Conclusion: | Appears to bear
out the contention that a higher immunization rate amongst staff
supports a lower infection rate amongst residents. | |

Note: | Inglewood Care Centre
had no reported cases of influenza, and no residents with influenza
signs and symptoms! | |
