Seasonal Changes

leafStaff have asked if families could look through clothes closets while visiting to determine winter clothing needs. Summer clothing can be taken away and warmer clothing made available. Other considerations to take into account during this inventory are determining mending needs and labeling needs. This will be the perfect opportunity to help relocate those missing items! Check with laundry, as they have a number of item that have not been labeled.
Inglewood unit teams are asking that the end of November be designated the deadline for the completion of this project. Following this date, staff plan to make up a list of residents’ who have had their closets sorted and follow up on those who have not.
Note:
leafComfort Classics Clothing will be hosting a table at the Annual Bazaar & Tea on November 26th . This is an excellent opportunity to replace worn garments or buy a Christmas present. A percentage of sales goes to the Residents Council

 Inglewood and Confidentiality

Inglewood Care Centre and all other British Columbia care facilities are required to comply with the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act.
The purpose of the Act is “to govern the collection, use and disclosure of personal information by organizations in a manner that recognizes both the right of individuals to protect their personal information and the need of organizations to collect, use or disclose personal information for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances.”
As required by the Act, Inglewood has for many years had a confidentiality policy in place and all employees, upon hire, sign a confidentiality statement. The confidentiality statement pledges that resident information will not be divulged either inside or outside the organization other than to persons authorized to receive such information in the course of their duties.
While at Inglewood, residents and families often build relationships with other residents and their families and are often concerned about the health and well being of each other. To avoid placing our employees, or those of SimpeQ or Sodexho, in a difficult position, we request that families do not ask staff for information that is confidential. We also ask that families do not discuss other residents unless that resident or a family member are present to avoid any breaches of confidentiality.
