Change Integration, transformation & Trust
The year 2005 continues to be a year of upheaval and major changes for us all who are involved with the Inglewood community.
Last year we were all grieved to say “good-bye” to our kitchen and support staff, many of whom has called Inglewood “home” for many, many years. We wish them all very best wishes and hope that these unexpected changes will open new doors… as change so often does.
Since January 1st, 2005, family member have been trying to adapt to our new support staff and their new system! Many of us are actually “getting to know each other, talking to each other” for the first time as we search out for those renegade socks, underwear, nighties, etc. that seem to get misplaced. So… something good is coming out of our collective frustration. ..we met each other and shared our concerns. Perhaps we can take it a step further and find those missing laundry items in the process! (smile)
Since January 1st, however, a most amazing “adaptation” has taken place throughout most of Inglewood. Thanks to the exceptional nursing, care and administration staff, these dedicated caregivers have shown their sterling qualities by the manner in which they have | | “pitched in” to fill the numerous cracks which always arise when unexpected change is made. These individuals , while facing flu virus outbreaks and accreditation deadlines as well as the loss of co-workers still put our Family members first and helped the new support staff to settle in… finding sock here, and there...as best the could.
The board would like to extend a sincere “Thank you” to our very caring administration, nursing and care staff for all your efforts which have not gone unnoticed. We would also like to extend a “Welcome” to our new support staff...we know that is is not easy for you either and hope that this transition will bring you into an integral part of the Inglewood family.
Finally, we need to trust that 2005 will continue to bring about a unique transformation at Inglewood Care Centre. Trust that ownership will keep “change” to a minimum and call upon us if they need our help and support. Trust in the professional teams as they continue to give the best of care to our family members. And trust in the support staff (our new kids on the block) that they will soon adjust to and become a part of this community.
Change is never easy...but together perhaps we can make this transition more meaningful to us all. Let us trust that we well!
Best Wishes for the coming year….
