For those who have not as yet donated, please consider our cause.
Residents and families will benefit from this garden in perpetuity.
Every cent counts in reaching our goal of $65,000.

_ The Cherry Tree gift store located at 2458 Marine Drive in West Vancouver. Egon Otten very kindly gave us a discount on those beautiful, free-standing pink, white and blue flowers that can be seen at the lobby display. Many people have shown an interest in the flowers and Egon says that they will be available at the Cherry Tree all summer in white, pink, red and blue.

_ Naomi Yamamoto owner of Lasercolor, #215 1433 Lonsdale Ave., North Vancouver. Naomi gave us a 50% discount on our mounted colour reproduction of the garden that you see in the lobby. Naomi’s company does an excellent job on a full range of laser copy and reproduction services. You can check them out at www.lasercolor.ca

_ Ruth Morse is a graphic designer / production artist who also instructs privately as a Mac tutor
(604-922-8637). She and her Mom both loved to garden and we thank Ruth for her generous spirit and graphic inspiration for the mail out, posters and other garden signage and for her endless enthusiasm and hours given to help us visually promote this project.

Volunteer News

A very “happy” Spring to all!

I wish to welcome and introduce our four (4) new volunteers to the Inglewood Community.

à Shadi and Caroline chose to visit Manor residents on a one-to-one basis on Sunday mornings.

à Farah is assisting the Manor Recreation Staff with Saturday afternoon bowling.

à Alyssa is looking after the Tuck Shop on Mondays after school from 4:00 to 5:00.

Global Youth Service Days will be celebrated from April 11th to the 13th. Worldwide, there will be 150 countries who will celebrate and plan events for their young volunteers. These events highlight the roles young people assume and help to educate the public about the contribution they make to their communities.

At Inglewood, we have 37 youth between the ages of 15 and 24 years who volunteer with us. This year, we are thanking them by highlighting their participation in a photo display.

National Volunteer Week in Canada will be celebrated April 7th to May 3rd. We have two events planned for our community and resident volunteers:

A Volunteer Afternoon Tea
on Tuesday, April 15th, and a

Volunteer Supper Social
on the evening of May 7th.

The invitations will be mailed next month.
Thanks to all our families and volunteers
for contributing to the Inglewood Community!

Scatter Rugs…

A recent safety inspection was done by our Occupational Health and Safety Team of all the rooms in the facility. The team has highlighted the potential risk for falls that scatter rugs pose to staff and residents. We understand that making the room look and feel as comfortable as possible is very important to you and your family member, but we have a responsibility to ensure everyone’s safety. We recommend that you remove these rugs and help your family member to understand and accept the need to follow safety guidelines. For further information contact Karen Holt or Lisa Feghali.
