Mount Kilimanjaro
Info
*Mount Kilimanjaro,
the highest mountain in Africa. It is located in the north-eastern Tanzanian,
near the border of Kenya. Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano. Its two peaks stand
about 11 km (approx. 7 miles) apart and are connected by a broad ridge. Kibo,
the higher peak, rises to 5,895 m (19,340 ft) above the sea level, and Mawenzi
rises 5,149 m (16,892 ft) above the sea level. Although Kilimanjaro lies 3°
south of the equator, an ice cap covers the crater of Kibo year-round.

violent storms. The short rains tend to be much less severe.
